The first day of the APLF Leather fair ended on March 13 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) with a good number of visitors filling hall 1, which houses the leather industry exhibitors.
The four materials in one show (APLF-Leather & Materials+, Cashmere World and Fashion Access) features 23 group country pavilions from 19 countries across two halls of the HKCEC.
Taking place March 13-15, it covers 25,000 sqm gross area, with 48.7% of all exhibitors highlighting finished leather and 8% for semi-finished leather.
Some of the people ILM spoke with during the fair said that they had been quite busy and that visitors were on the whole very professional and are making a number of enquiries. However, the unstable fundamentals in the leather supply chain remain and a fuller picture will only emerge after the show ends.
