GSES Production Room
Four years: that is the time it took Sino-Taiwanese Company Glare Star Technologies (GSES) to develop an eco-friendly PU elastomer material that contains no solvent, is highly stretchable, is water-proof and fire repellent. The company located in the Industrial Transfer Park of Dongguan Shilong in Guangdong province, spent 10 million renminbi to create, with the scientific support of the Taiwan National University, this product which is particularly suitable for the automotive and upholstery markets, according to GSES’ Director Martin Sun. These sectors represent 50 per cent of the company’s business and are bound to grow as demand is increasing. “The stretching physical function and the extended life span or our product makes it ideal for cars interiors and for furniture,” explains Sun. “Sixty per cent of our sales are in China but we are actively negotiating with car makers in the US and in Japan,” Sun adds.
Chances are that GSES’ products go even beyond these borders as it attracted a lot of interest and enquiries from potential buyers visiting the company’s booth at the All China Leather Exhibition (ACLE) 2017 from Russia, Mongolia and Pakistan, according to Sun. “We chose to participate ACLE to spread the word about our dedication to environmental friendly products and practices,” Sun insists.
GSES PU Elastomer passed with flying colors all the necessary certifications including the Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) Testing which ensures that chemical substances found in everyday products are safe to human health and that products are free of potentially hazardous substances.

Prospects are so good that GSES plans to expand its production floor to four production lines before 2019, according to Sun, and to participate in ACLE again next year.
