Atom Group debuts at APLF Materials+ in Hong Kong

Advanced Robotic Manufacturing on Show at Materials+

With its origins dating back to 1946 in Vigevano, Italy, the Atom Group has expanded its operations and reach through innovation and industrial evolution combined with strategic acquisitions to position itself in the major shoe manufacturing areas in the world with the founding of Atom Brazil and Atom China.

Atom’s specialty has been to develop advanced technologies applied to many productive sectors, suitable to all industrial processes which include non-metal materials cutting: rubber and plastics, textile, footwear, leather goods, packaging, gaskets, automotive, sports accessories, medical, furniture, visual communication.

Atom’s range of sole injection moulding machines and lasting and bottom preparation machines can be seen after important acquisitions in 2016 which has allowed the company full control on all the most important steps in shoe manufacturing. 

In order to attain full technological control on the entire shoe design and manufacturing pipeline, Atom acquired the British company CSM3D and with its the versatile Shoemaster CAD Programme.

The Atom Group R+D team specialised in process automation, advanced robotic and additive manufacturing and at the 2017 APLF Materials+ fair will exhibit the following:

Highly versatile fully automatic cutting machine: FLASHCUT FASHION 26B ALL–IN-ONE, to cut all kind of leather shoes; leather goods; automotive; furniture. It is designed for maximum output and material saving. 

Cooperative robot: the UR 10 robotic arm; this low weight, versatile, cooperative robot belongs to the new generation of robotic devices which are designed to work in the same workspace as humans.

Mobile robot: as a premiere in a shoe exhibition worldwide, ATOMLab will demonstrate another piece of advanced technology by showing at APLF an ADEPT LYNX mobile, autonomously guided robot, as part of a strategic partnership the ATOM Group has signed with OMRON, owner of the ADEPT brand. 

Augmented reality for retail: ATOMLab will demonstrate for the first time a virtual retail application based on Augmented Reality and the brand new Microsoft Hololens advanced AR equipment.
