APLF’s 33rd edition held from 29 - 31 March proved to be a success from the outset. There was a bustling atmosphere in the halls on Day 1 as buyers arrived to do business, look for new suppliers, materials and solutions for their manufacturing operations. The vibrant atmosphere continued into Day 2 and Day 3 with total visitor numbers exceeding the previous year’s show by 4.33% reaching 16,948 from 83 countries and regions.
The BLC Leather Technology Centre has signed a research agreement with Applied DNA Sciences, a provider of DNA-based product authentication solutions, to develop a comprehensive and verifiable leather traceability platform.
Global leather trade's biggest event ended recently in Hong Kong. The APLF Leather & Materials + fair was attended by 38 Brazilian companies with the support of Brazilian Leather - a project that encourages leather exports and is developed by the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil).
Our fortnightly market intelligence report, the Leather Pipeline, has said the immediate impressions of the 2017 APLF exhibition in Hong Kong were positive. “All in all, the attendance was quite impressive and most exhibitors were satisfied in terms of visitors and activity at their booths,” the report said in its April 4 edition, the first since the event took place at the end of March.
This year 65 Pakistani exporters took part in the APLF exhibition in Hong Kong, including tanners specialising in finished cow, buffalo, sheep and goat leather, producers of leather garments and manufacturers of other finished products, including footwear, gloves and accessories.
