Sustainable Apparel Coalition rebrands as Cascale

Non-profit the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) has announced a rebrand, changing its name to Cascale, writes ILM.

The organisation said that the “Cas” in Cascale is “SAC” reversed, while “CA” refers to “collective action” and “scale” references scaled ambitions. Cascale is pronounced “kæsk eɪl.”

Cascale is a global nonprofit alliance, including more than 300 retailers, brands, manufacturers, governments, academics, and NGO/nonprofit affiliates. Cascale is focused on sustainability in consumer goods and is most known for the Higg Index.

Carolina van Loenen, Director of Stakeholder Engagement at Cascale, said: “Our new name and branding reflect our expanded ability to increase our community’s collective impact. Cascale remains committed to embracing the diverse perspectives of our members, partners, and external stakeholders to align on meaningful action.”
