Innovation - Government award for ASICS innovation

Sports footwear and clothing brand ASICS has been announced as the winner of Japan’s Open Innovation Prize for its GEL-LYTE III CM 1.95 sho, writes Footwearbiz.

This award is presented by Japan’s national sports agency and is sponsored by six different government ministries in recognition of creative initiatives that can serve as role models and help accelerate innovation in Japan. This is the sixth occasion on which they have presented the award.

ASICS brought the GEL-LYTE III CM 1.95 to market in September, describing it as the shoe with the lowest CO2 emissions in the world.
