The Textile, Clothing, Footwear and Leather (TCLF) Skills Alliance held a kick-off meeting on November 21, writes ILM.

The meeting was co-organised by the European Footwear Confederation (CEC), the Confederation of National Associations of Tanners and Dressers of the European Community (Cotance) and the European Apparel and Textile Confederation (Euratex).

The TCLF Skills Alliance is a group of organisations uniting to improve skills and training for TCLF workers at regional, national and European Union (EU) levels.

The alliance began in December 2021, when the three organisations and 115 stakeholders signed the Pact for Skills Charger for the TCLF sectors.

One of the group’s initiatives is the Blueprint Metaskills4TCLF project, launched in September, which will develop training resources and promote the sectors as a career choice, among other goals.

The kick-off meeting included talks from key stakeholders as well as panels on best practices in regional skills collaboration and ongoing skills work, as well as success stories of initiatives for increasing the attractiveness of professional careers in the TCLF sectors for young people.

About APLF

We bring leather, material and fashion businesses together: an opportunity to meet and greet face to face. We bring them from all parts of the world so that they can find fresh partners, discover new customers or suppliers and keep ahead of industry developments.

We organise a number of trade exhibitions which focus on fashion and lifestyle: sectors that are constantly in flux, so visitors and exhibitors alike need to be constantly aware both of the changes around them and those forecast for coming seasons.
