France - Angoulême event is part of leather cluster’s recruitment plan

Leather industry cluster ResoCuir is preparing to hold its Les Portes du Cuir (Doorway Into Leather) event for the ninth time, with this year’s event taking place in Angoulême on November 30, writes Leatherbiz.

Covering the whole of the region of Nouvelle-Aquitaine in south-west France, ResoCuir laid out plans earlier this year to recruit 2,000 new leather-sector employees in the next three years.

A total of 92 companies make up ResoCuir at the moment, employing a combined total of 4,700 workers. Its membership includes tanners and manufacturers of footwear, handbags, gloves, equestrian equipment and other products.

The November 30 event will consist of a series of roundtable discussions and networking opportunities.

Speakers will include the director of leathergoods manufacturing in the south-west for Hermès, Mathieu Mamère
