Bottega Veneta has announced the launch of the Accademia Labor et Ingenium, which will train and hire 50 students a year, writes ILM.

Five master artisans from the company will train 50 students each year, who are guaranteed employment at the brand when they complete the course.

In addition, the school will offer upskilling and reskilling for existing Bottega Veneta employees and training collaborations with local partners.

This begins with a seven-week masterclass for eight students in partnership with Università Iuav di Venezia, titled “The Artisanal Creative Process: Training Course in Bag Design and Product Development”.

Bottega Veneta CEO Leo Rongone said: “Accademia Labor et Ingenium is a key strategic pillar to preserve Bottega Veneta’s unique savoir faire. Exceptional craft and creativity are essential to our brand and to the heritage of our home region in Veneto. With the Accademia, we take the collective ethos at the heart of Bottega Veneta to a new level, building on our rich history of skill-sharing and innovation to nurture the artisans of the future.”
