Figli di Guido Lapi (FGL), an Italy-based supplier of vegetable tanning chemicals, has recently opened a new experimental tannery in Santa Croce sull’Arno. The new facility is dedicated to the development of new products and the analysis and study of new skin materials, where testing and sample leather production can be carried out using vegetable tanning methods.

The company states the pilot scale facility is a temporary solution to meet the demands of clients in the tanning industry while “waiting for a future technical reorganisation that we will continue to collaborate on with Lapi Group Spa companies”.

Figli di Guido Lapi is part of the wider Lapi group, which includes FGL International, Finikem, Toscolapi, Gi-Elle-Emme tannery, Lapi Gelatine and Npa Mosè.
