Environment - Deforestation-Free Call to Action for Leather

Leather Working Group is pleased to announce that World Wildlife Fund (WWF) will join us as partner of the Deforestation-Free Call to Action for Leather, alongside Textile Exchange.

The Deforestation-Free Call to Action for Leather is a cross-sector initiative that calls on brands and retailers to commit to sourcing all their bovine leather from deforestation-free supply chains by 2030 or earlier.

WWF has previously had an active role as part of the NGO advisory group, along with National Wildlife Federation (NWF), and the Accountability Framework initiative (AFi), offering valuable input into the workplan and tool development.

In its new role as partner, WWF will work actively with signatories towards developing deforestation/conversion-free supply chains. This will include offering signatories further in-depth expert guidance, supporting collaborative approaches, and helping them to set meaningful expectations on their journey towards ending the deforestation and conversion of natural ecosystems linked to cattle farming.

We bring leather, material and fashion businesses together: an opportunity to meet and greet face to face. We bring them from all parts of the world so that they can find fresh partners, discover new customers or suppliers and keep ahead of industry developments.

We organise a number of trade exhibitions which focus on fashion and lifestyle: sectors that are constantly in flux, so visitors and exhibitors alike need to be constantly aware both of the changes around them and those forecast for coming seasons.
