Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences has released a guiding principles document for sustainable leather chemistry, writes ILM.
Following the More Sustainable Chemistry along the Leather Supply Chains project, which concluded in 2022, representatives from the university and the leather industry have released the guiding principles document.
According to the university, this new document provides the industry with concrete criteria for scrutinising their own processes and products and, if necessary, developing them further.
The full document, Guiding Principles – More Sustainable Leather Chemistry, can be found on the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences website.
We bring leather, material and fashion businesses together: an opportunity to meet and greet face to face. We bring them from all parts of the world so that they can find fresh partners, discover new customers or suppliers and keep ahead of industry developments.
We organise a number of trade exhibitions which focus on fashion and lifestyle: sectors that are constantly in flux, so visitors and exhibitors alike need to be constantly aware both of the changes around them and those forecast for coming seasons.
