Leather manufacturing group PrimeAsia has announced that its chief sustainability officer, Fernando Bellese, will leave the company at the start of September, writes Leatherbiz.

Mr Bellese joined the US-based company in 2019 after eight years working for JBS Couros in his native Brazil and, later, in the US, leading many of JBS Couros’s sustainability initiatives.

During these years, Fernando Bellese has also played leading roles in industry initiatives, including the Leather Working Group and Leather Naturally. He is to remain in the US to take up a new role at campaign group World Wildlife Fund.

PrimeAsia thanked Mr Bellese for his work at the company and said its search for a new chief sustainability officer to support the growth and continuity of projects that it described as central to its strategy, had already begun.
