Did you know the oldest Tannery in the world is in Fez, Morocco?…asks Khawaja Tanneries Private Limited
It is known as The Chouara Tannery, and it’s approximately 900 years old.
Talking about the infrastructure of the Tannery, it has several stone tubs where the leather is dyed. Each tub has a particular dyeing solution.
The Tannery is still operational and implements manual production processes similar to those employed in the past. The leather produced here is exported worldwide.
Chouara Tannery is one of Morocco’s most popular tourist destinations.
