25 March 2022

Two industry organisations, Leather Working Group and Leather Naturally, have joined forces to dedicate March 30 to promoting the industry globally, calling it World Leather Day. World Leather Day 2022 will coincide with the opening of APLF in Dubai, reports Leatherbiz.

The two founding bodies said their aim was to encourage as wide an audience as possible to talk about leather, urging representatives of the industry to raise awareness of leather’s positive attributes, including its durability, versatility and sustainability credentials as an upcycled material.

Their plan is to have a much wider-reaching campaign for World Leather Day 2023.

Head of the Leather Working Group, Christina Trautmann, described the initiative as “an exciting communications event” that would give the leather industry “a well-deserved moment of positive press”.

About APLF

We bring leather, material and fashion businesses together: an opportunity to meet and greet face to face. We bring them from all parts of the world so that they can find fresh partners, discover new customers or suppliers and keep ahead of industry developments.

We organise a number of trade exhibitions which focus on fashion and lifestyle: sectors that are constantly in flux, so visitors and exhibitors alike need to be constantly aware both of the changes around them and those forecast for coming seasons.
