EUDR on the back burner till 2027

UNIC – Italian Tanneries reports on LinkedIn that a conference on the subject of EUDR is scheduled for the 24th September.

The EU Commission is preparing the postponement of the EUDR to 2027 and the news was announced during a public event by the European Commissioner for the Environment Jessika Roswall.

The Anti-Deforestation Regulation, which provides for due diligence burdens for international trade in certain products (including cowhide at each stage of processing), should have come into force as early as December 2024 for large companies and in 2025 for SMEs and is already reduced by the one-year deferral.
