Ricky Kwan has spent nearly three decades immersed in the world of leather and leather goods, turning a deep fascination with materials into a lifelong career. A graduate of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Ricky began his journey exploring the craftsmanship and innovation behind traditional leathers before expanding into plant-based and alternative materials.
Ricky spent almost nine years as Director of Material R&D at Fossil, leading global initiatives in material sourcing and development, building extensive expertise in both conventional and emerging leather technologies.
Motivated by a passion for sustainability and a forward-thinking approach to material innovation, Ricky founded MM Limited, where he currently serves as Director. Under his leadership, MM Limited has spearheaded advancements in eco-conscious materials, notably developing the biodegradable, plant-based “MM Alternative Leather”—an innovative, sustainable solution designed to minimize environmental impact while maintaining premium quality.
