Despite the economic downturn that has gripped the sector since 2023—and in some ways, in reaction to it—in the December issue of the monthly magazine La Conceria (“Another Year”), we report on a certain excitement in the Italian manufacturing sector. The article’s headline is telling: “Surprise (!?): There are people hiring in the supply chain.”
The excitement in Made in Italy
From Tuscany to the Marche. From footwear and leather goods manufacturers to tanneries. In a seismic shift that supports the demand for training. Along the supply chain, while many companies are suffering or closing, there are also those who are investing in their staff: perhaps because, countercyclically, they are experiencing a period of growth. Or because, instead, they are preparing the organization for the rebound that will arrive sooner or later.
