Bosnia-Herzogovina: Boxmark plans Bosnia plant expansion in 2026

From January 2026, Bosnian leather maker Boxmark Leather, a subsidiary of Boxmark Austria, will invest 13 million KM (€6.65 million) to expand the machinery park, boost production and increase its workforce by 400 workers.


Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Federal Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Adnan Delić, visited the Boxmark company in Lukavac where he spoke with Director Matej Bastić about the new investment.B By ILM.


Boxmark’s parent company also operates in Mexico, Argentina, Slovenia, and Croatia, specialising in premium upholstery leathers, and employs almost 6,000 workers. 860 workers are employed in Lukavac and the company currently produces 650 leather sets per day.


Minister Delić praised Boxmark as a model employer, noting its decision to spend 360,000 KM (€184,072) monthly to retain 160 temporarily redundant workers until new orders arrive. He highlighted the company’s investment in staff and its commitment to training, good working conditions and labour law compliance.
