Kim Kardashian? No. Lauren Sanchez Bezos? No. The Japanese company Valuence Japan won the first Hermès Birkin bag at auction for 8.6 million euros, beating the other eight bidders. Nss Magazine writes it. By La Conceria.
“It is a cultural heritage that we want to make accessible to a wide audience. We hope that this bag can become a symbol of empowerment, diversity and trust,” Shinsuke Sakimoto, CEO of the group, explained to Fashionsnap. The bag will not be resold for speculative purposes but, on the contrary, could be exhibited to the public. According to the Tokyo Weekender, Valuence Japan also plans to develop educational projects on reuse and durability around the Birkin.
