The economic situation, which is complex and requires tanners not only to resort to their own “foresight”, but to update it to new demands. The Anti-Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), which until it is corrected at European level (by removing cowhide or simplifying bureaucratic burdens) represents an operational threat. And relations with the EU, where decisions of fundamental importance for the sector are taken and for this reason it was decided to invest in a more important headquarters for Cotance and for the leather product associations.
These are some of the points of the report by President Fabrizio Nuti during the general assembly of UNIC – Italian Tanneries (Milan, July 1st). The event hosted a report by Dario Fabbri, geopolitical expert and editor of Domino magazine, on the international goals of the Trump administration. And the presentation by Federico Brugnoli (Spin 360) of the Leather Leaders project.
The Assembly was attended by Giovanna Ceolini (president of Confindustria Accessori Moda), Agostino Apolito (general manager of Assomac) and Maurizio Maggioni (UNPAC national secretary). With them Michele Matteoli (president of the Ponte a Egola Tanners Consortium), Riccardo Bandini (president of the Tanners Association of Santa Croce sull’Arno) and Roberto Giannoni (mayor of Santa Croce sull’Arno). Mirko Balsemin (president of the Tanning section of Confindustria Vicenza) and Sonia Tosoni (secretary of FILCTEM CGIL) also brought their greetings.
We bring leather, material and fashion businesses together: an opportunity to meet and greet face to face. We bring them from all parts of the world so that they can find fresh partners, discover new customers or suppliers and keep ahead of industry developments.
We organise a number of trade exhibitions which focus on fashion and lifestyle: sectors that are constantly in flux, so visitors and exhibitors alike need to be constantly aware both of the changes around them and those forecast for coming seasons.
