June 24, 2025 European Commission, Brussels: COTANCE Secretary General Gustavo Gonzalez-Quijano met Ms Valentina Schaumburger, Member of the Cabinet of Commissioner Stéphane Séjourné, Executive Vice-President for Prosperity and Industrial Strategy of the European Commission.

The meeting focused on key regulatory issues impacting the competitiveness of the European leather industry: the on-going review of the Textile Labelling Regulation and the need for leather authenticity, relevant ESPR criteria for leather and DPP, Environmental Footprint of animal by-products, as well as other EU legislation.
