Leathergoods - First stone laid at Hermès factory in Loupes

Luxury group Hermès has laid the first stone in the construction of another of its new leathergoods workshops in France. By Leatherbiz.

The factory in question will be in the town of Loupes, about 20 kilometres from Bordeaux. It will open in 2026, ultimately employing 260 in-house trained artisans.

Hermès said this latest project reaffirmed its commitment to creating long-term jobs and transmitting leather know-how in the region and across France.

The company opened a leathergoods factory workshop in nearby Saint-Vincent-de-Paul in September 2021 and, two years later, Hermès opened a new training centre in the region.
