Big reduction in carbon emissions intensity for Stahl

Leather chemicals group Stahl has reduced its carbon emissions intensity by 22%. It published the information on April 18 in its 2023 environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) report. By Leatherbiz.


It gave this figure as the saving it achieved in its scope-one and scope-two emissions in 2023 compared to the previous year.


Highlights in the report also included a note saying Stahl has now carried out lifecycle assessment (LCA) studies on more than 350 of its products. It also said that 70% of its revenues in 2023 came from sales of products that level-three (the highest possible) certification from ZDHC.


Chief executive, Maarten Heijbroek, said 2023 was an important year for the company’s ESG roadmap targets for 2030. “I’m pleased to report that we delivered on our interim milestones,” he said.
