23 March 2023

We published the most recent Leatherbiz Market Intelligence on March 21.

In this issue, the mood is downbeat. Longed-for large orders of leather from footwear manufacturers for next winter’s shoe collections have not arrived in the volumes required to signal a turnaround in leather’s fortunes, and time is running short now. This comes on the back of a poor furniture season and automotive orders that seem to concentrate on the higher end, with correspondingly limited volumes.

“We do not foresee any positive change in the coming weeks,” the newsletter concludes. “Current production will be maintained, but a fundamental improvement is not in sight.”

About APLF

We bring leather, material and fashion businesses together: an opportunity to meet and greet face to face. We bring them from all parts of the world so that they can find fresh partners, discover new customers or suppliers and keep ahead of industry developments.

We organise a number of trade exhibitions which focus on fashion and lifestyle: sectors that are constantly in flux, so visitors and exhibitors alike need to be constantly aware both of the changes around them and those forecast for coming seasons.
