Santa Croce-based leather chemicals manufacturer Figli di Guido Lapi resumed the “Open Factories 2023” training program on February 15, after a two-year break due to the covid-19 pandemic, with a visit by the fifth-grade classes of the Charles Catteneo State Technical Institute (IT Cattaneo) in San Miniato. Report by Leatherbiz.

Running between February and May, the project will involve approximately 180 students from the institute visiting businesses in the area, bringing the world of school closer to that of work. In May, tours of the other companies in the Lapi Group (Finikem, Toscolapi, Figli di Guido Lapi, Conceria Gi-Elle-Emme, Npa Moses, Lapi Gelatine) will continue with visits by other year groups from the school.

In addition to the students and teachers of IT Cattaneo, the tour saw participation by FGL International CEO Francesco Lapi and Managing director Fabrizio Ugolini, the Mayor of Castelfranco di Sotto, the secretary of Federchimica AISPEC, and the vice president of the Unione Industriale Pisana (Small Industry).
