Made by Bill Amberg, our supporter of #LeatherTruthfully. The leather staircase is made of vegetable tanned leather and manufactured for a leading industrial designer.
The choice of leather for the stairs was a request from Bill Amberg Studio’s client because the leather surface will tell its own story over time through constant daily use.
The vegetable tanned leather absorbs polish marks, darkens where it has been walked on and is bleached by sunlight, giving it life and character.
Their customer’s appreciation for aging and longevity of the leather means that the stairs never need to be replaced. They will never wear out, just get better with age.
