The Turkish company Desa announced that it will set up a factory for leathergoods in Tuscany to be closer to its customers. Currently, Desa produces women’s and men’s clothing, bags and accessories in two factories. It also owns a 20,000 square metre tannery in Çorlu.

Desa has luxury brands among its clients such as Prada, Miu Miu, Chanel and Armani. Concentrating on manufacturing for the luxury sector, Desa expects to close 2022 with a turnover of 75million euros. With a full order book, Desa needs to be closer to its customers to be more efficient and offer better service.

This is the reason for the investment in a new manufacturing facility at Popoli in Tuscany where production will start in November. The factory has an area of two thousand square metres, will employ fifty artisans and allow Desa to be closer to its main customers.

The company has a factory in Istanbul and another in Duzce, and has its own brand of leather clothing (1972 Desa). The brand is distributed in Italy in about eighty retail outlets.
