Planning the sustainability and greenhouse gas reduction in tannery operations is essential as consumers are more aware than ever of the use of sustainable materials in the products they buy.

The Italian company Dal Ceredo Technology offers a strategic sustainability plan to tanneries using its patented S1 System.

This system works backwards by starting from a tannery’s carbon footprint and then tracing a path of actions and interventions aimed at decarbonisation, reducing consumption and emissions into the atmosphere.

After identifying and reducing the GHGs especially CO2 emissions from the leather making process, Dal Ceredo recommends certifying these reductions through a close collaboration with the ESCo (Energy Service Company) which is well experienced in certifying the reduction of CO2 emissions.
