London-based market research firm Brand Finance has named five leathergoods brands in its top ten for the fashion industry for 2022, reports Leatherbiz.

Leathergoods brands Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel, Hermès and Cartier appear on the list, in positions two, three, four, six and nine respectively. Nike was number one. Adidas, Zara, H&M and Uniqlo are the others.

Brand Finance studies measures such as brand strength, customer research and competitor benchmarking and links these to “commercial outcomes” to come up with a notional valuation for each brand on the list.

It puts Louis Vuitton’s brand value at $23.4 billion, Gucci’s at $18.1 billion and Chanel’s at $15.3 billion. Its value for the Hermès brand was $13.5 billion and Cartier’s was $12.4 billion.
