28 March 2022

The Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) reaches its 65th anniversary in 2022. To celebrate this milestone, the entity will use a special commemorative stamp throughout the year in all its communication pieces.

The CICB is the entity that represents the Brazilian leather industries, regardless of size or location. Among its objectives, the association seeks the qualification of the sector, promotes trade intelligence and the image of Brazilian leather in the domestic and international markets. Its members represent more than 75% of the country’s leather production, recognized as one of the world’s largest players in this industry. Brazil annually produces 40 million hides, with exports to more than 80 countries.

The history of the CICB began in 1957, when it was founded in Rio de Janeiro. “Since then, our industry has gone through a tremendous evolution, including the start of exports, technological transition, professional qualification, projects aimed at adding value to leather and in the last decade very strongly the sustainability”, says José Fernando Bello, CICB’s executive president. The commemorative stamp has elements that represent movement and union – two core values of the entity – and must be used together with the CICB´s logo in all communication pieces until December 31, 2022.
