The car manufacturer recorded 52,793 retail deliveries in November 2021, a decline of 20.7% on the same month in 2020, a result influenced primarily by supply chain shortages, reports ILM.

 

 

Volvo reported sales growth of 8.8% for the year so far, reaching 634,257 cars and says it is on track for a full-year sales increase against 2020.


November saw the start of retail deliveries of the manufacturer’s new pure electric C40 Recharge model, and in Europe more than half of all new Volvo cars sold in November were Recharge models, which also made up a third of total sales worldwide.


In the United States, the company has sold 111,733 cars in 2021 so far, an increase of 16.5% year-on-year, with 7,667 sold in November. In China, Volvo sold 157,034 for the first 11 months of the year, up 6.1% on 2020, with 13,418 sold in November. Meanwhile, in Europe, year-to-date sales increased by 4% to 264,910 cars, with 22,415 in November specifically.


Globally, the XC60 continues to be the best-selling model for the company in 2021, as 195,108 cars (2020: 169,445) were sold in the first 11 months of the year. The XC40 follows in second with total sales of 184,842 cars (2020: 161,329), while the XC90 is the third best-selling model with 97,365 cars (2020: 80,275).
