Design-A-Bag Competition 2022 returns as a physical event at APLF Dubai

Design-A-Bag (DAB) is a unique design competition for freelance designers and students. The finalists will be sponsored to attend the Special Edition Fashion Access Dubai Fair in March 2022, the most important global leather and material exhibition. The Overall DAB Winner will be invited to attend four-week bag design course in Milan, provided by the renowned Arsutoria School.

The submission deadline is 4 February 2022 (UTC+8 23:59).

Since 2007, DAB has brought together a global design community during the Fashion Access Fair in Hong Kong. Creative, innovative and sustainable designs are showcased to the international professional audience with design knowledge and concepts exchanged among talents from diverse cultures and backgrounds.

2022 Competition Theme is Fashion Trend Fall-Winter 2022/23

For 2022, the competition will draw inspiration from the APLF Colour and Material Trends Fall-Winter 2022/23.

Fall-Winter 2022/23 brings us surprises and positive energies to strive for an eco-responsible and humanistic creation. In a synergy between the intelligence of humans and nature, colours and materials are at full play.

2022 Design Direction:
1. Leather, what else?
The world is changing, go sustainable and use natural materials

2. Colours celebrate and glorify the Fall-Winter season
Design with one of the Fall-Winter 2022/23 colour stories, each story presents a unique range of shades and tones

3. Materials amplify and display the dichotomy between technology and craftsmanship
Textured, tactile, techy and trendy, the materials complement the colours and bring Fall-Winter 2022/23 bag designs to life
