The Importance of the Symbiotic Relationship between Higher Education and Industry

“The Symbiotic Relationship between Higher Education and Industry” Prof Shan Wareing, John Sinclair, Vicki Dean and undergraduate and post graduate students from The University of Northampton   Universities around the world perform a major role in developing and disseminating new knowledge, developing talent and preparing young people for challenging and rewarding careers.  Increasingly over the past few decades, Universities have also worked closely with industry to both help bring new ideas and products to market and to develop existing work forces.  This presentation will consider some recent examples of successful collaborations, highlight the University of Northampton’s existing successful relationships with employers and will outline our plans for development of Leather and Fashion education over the next few years, including showcasing the work of some current students.
