What does “hygge” mean?

Hygge is a Danish word which can’t be translated into the English language in just one word. It’s a concept which roughly means “a mood of coziness and comfortable conviviality with feelings of wellness and contentment.”

Hygge moments are –for example– having a glass of your favorite wine in front of the fireplace on a cold winter evening, or cuddling with your significant other while watching a movie, diving into that novel you can’t stop reading wrapped in your favorite blanket, or camping with your best buds (or alone if you want to).

Hygge is the euphoric feeling when you are completely content in the present moment, when coziness embraces you.

We believe that not only leather’s characteristics go hand in hand with this concept, but also, that comfort comes from the feet up. If you think about it, no matter how pleasant a situation is, if your feet are not comfortable, you’re not going to have a good time.

That being said, let’s bring a bit of Hygge into our lives, and cherish Hygge moments.
