Writes <a href=\"https:\/\/leatherbiz.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Leatherbiz<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5062\" src=\"https:\/\/www.aplf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/image_fashiona.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"339\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.aplf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/image_fashiona.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.aplf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/image_fashiona-300x203.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ms Goldstein, who works for research firm NPD Group, said sales of shoulder bags in the six months to August 31, were up by 14% year on year, while sales of cross-body bags increased by 7%.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She said the increased popularity of these \u201chands-free silhouettes\u201d suggested to her that women were buying them for nights out. She pointed out, over the same period, sales of tote bags were down by 1% year on year and sales of satchels by 5% and suggested this was indicative of a slower return to offices or to business events.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Overall, she said the situation in the handbag market was positive. She pointed out that there were fewer promotions and suggested this meant demand was strong.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe women\u2019s handbag market has rebounded more quickly than expected and regained most of the revenue lost in 2020,\u201d she explained. \u201cConsumers are treating themselves as they return to more of their normal pre-pandemic behaviours.
