It\u2019s a simple, yet powerful and irrefutable statement that leather lovers need to be saying in unison to fight the misconceptions used by well-financed activists to target leather. There are two certain categories – \u201cTruth\u201d and \u201cFiction.\u201d The space in between is a \u201cgrey\u201d area where activists live, breathe and \u201cspin\u201d their calculated claims.<\/p>\n

When it comes to leather, activists blur reality by invoking \u201cAnimal Cruelty\u201d claims from their anti-fur and anti-beef movements to weaken consumer demand, influencing retailers purchasing options with a goal of decimating the leather industry.<\/p>\n

They build the illusion that somehow, like baby seals and foxes, cattle are killed for their hides. They utilize their Anti-Beef movement to build the illusion that buying leather goods directly leads to killing more cattle.<\/p>\n

OBVIOUSLY, IT IS NOT THE TRUTH \u2013 BUT THE ILLUSIONS ARE POWERFUL AND THEY KNOW IT.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s time to stop this insanity and empower ourselves to be stewards of the truth. Look, most of these folks don\u2019t really know the facts, they simple \u201crecite to incite.\u201d Confront them with focused, simple facts and most crumble.<\/p>\n

So, the next time you hear something about leather and animal cruelty\u2026don\u2019t just let it pass. Use these Tools and Truths to address the lies:<\/p>\n

You need four things to counter an activist: courage, patience, focus and simple facts:<\/p>\n

  1. Courage: Speak up when you hear something false<\/li>\n
  2. Patience: Activists rely on obnoxious behavior to stir your emotions of anger and fear \u2013 and once those are unleashed you\u2019ve lost!<\/li>\n
  3. Focus: Keep focused on the specific statement you object to and don’t get pulled into the \u201cgrey area\u201d (where they try to complicate and confuse).<\/li>\n
  4. Simple Facts: Use strong, irrefutable, and simple facts.
