Alane Becker Marder comes from a multi-generation leather family and has been connected to the industry her entire life. After expanding her career into international charity work and wellness, she returned to leather in 2017 as Head of Marketing, Sustainability and Well-Being at Simona Tanning.
An expat for over 30 years across Asia-Pacific, Alane has worked extensively with non-profits supporting women and vulnerable communities in China, Cambodia, Bangladesh and Vietnam. She combines deep technical leather knowledge with a strong commitment to sustainability and responsible design, passionate about supporting the next generation of designers to use materials consciously, creatively and ethically.
