Industry promotional campaign Leather Naturally has announced three updates to its Supervisory Council, the organisation’s governing body. By ILM.
Arnaud Backbier and Thomas Yu have each been elected to their first terms on the Council, succeeding outgoing members David Peters and Chad Jensen, respectively. James Lang, current Chair of the Supervisory Council, has been re-elected for a third and final term.
Backbier brings over 20 years of experience in business strategy, operations and sustainability. He has previously worked at Royal Smit & Zoon, and has focused on commercial leadership and corporate governance.
Thomas Yu, General Manager of Taiwan-based Jollity Enterprise, has more than 25 years of experience in the leather industry. He currently serves as President of the Taiwan International Leather Association (TILA) and has held leadership roles in other industry groups, including the International Union of Leather Technologists and Chemists Societies (IULTCS).
James Lang, a long-time member of the leather sector and a director at Scottish Leather Group, has served on the Supervisory Council since its inception. In addition to his role at Leather Naturally, Lang is Chair of Leather UK and a Court Assistant at the Worshipful Company of Leathersellers in London.
The Supervisory Council also includes current members Carl Flach and Dietrich Tegtmeyer.
