Native of the Tuscan Leather District, Barbara Mannucci began her working career in the mid-90s in the press office of a prestigious Florentine cultural institution. Here she was able to hone his skills in the
communication sector and learn to use all the tools of the trade.
At the beginning of the 2000s, her curiosity and desire to explore new horizons led her to enter the vibrant
world of fashion, working in the commercial department of renowned tanneries in the Tuscan Leather
District where she deepened her knowledge of leather and the production processes that make it unique.
In 2008, her transversal skills led her to the Consorzio Vera Pelle Italiana Conciata al Vegetale, a non-profit
organization that protects the traditional art of vegetable tanning in Tuscany and promotes the use of
vegetable tanned leather internationally.
Since 2013 she has held the role of Director of the Consortium, continuing to work to enhance Tuscan
artisan excellence and promote the sustainability and quality of this unique material.
