APLF 2019 : Onsite Interview - Unionpelli

Unionpelli is a tannery based in Arzignano in Italy specializing in supplying hides to the automotive sector. The tannery produces wet blue and chrome free wet white. As Managing Director, Paolo Muraro explains, Unionpelli is focuses directly on smoothing out the supply chain by sourcing the bull hides required at nominated slaughterhouses so as to have complete control of the raw materials entering the tannery for processing.

This enables the tannery to have a traceability record of where the hide was sourced – or even where the bull was actually eating the grass – and gives control over the supply chain which is vital for sustainability, transparency and credibility in this competitive market place.

Supplying wet blue and wet white to tanneries worldwide with increasing business the FarE, Uinionpelli aims to “give customers what they want” and maintains a stock of material in their warehouse.

Managing Director Muraro was very satisfied with the results of APLF Leather 20019 and remarked that the first two days had been very good for business.
