Sustainability Conferences

The fashion sector is an industry that affects all and carries a significant ecological burden. For the past few years it has aspired to become a more ethical, transparent, and environmentally friendly industry.

APLF will be hosting a Sustainable Fashion Conference tailored for businesses seeking to navigate this movement toward transparency and sustainability – be it in terms of the environment, social impacts, animal welfare or health.

The first edition of the Sustainable Fashion Conference, which was held on March 14, 2019, was well attended. The event is part of APLF’s aim to establish itself as the main Sustainable Sourcing Platform of the Asia Pacific Region.

In today’s landscape, the leather sector is open to new and evolving risks, which are increasingly scrutinising the sustainability of global leather production. Brands, retailers, manufacturers and tanneries are under pressure from consumers and NGOs to deliver a cleaner, more efficient and more sustainable leather industry. Opportunity for this arises from innovation and sustainable solutions, which were discussed on 14th March 2019 at the Sustainability in the Leather Supply Chain Conference 2019 in Hong Kong, sponsored by Silvateam, Stahl, JBS Couros, ARS Tannery, Deichmann and Conseil National du Cuir.
