Karl Flowers writes on LinkedIn: Hi all interested people in my network. Myself, and some very dear colleagues of mine Deborah Taylor, PCQI, FSLTC and Gustavo Adrián Defeo will be speaking next week (11 June 2025) at the COTANCE Green Deal event.
It starts at 14.30 CET, and you must register for this event that is rapidly running out of places (register here: https://lnkd.in/eKrfMbA6). There is no charge for the event and I am sure you will learn something about leather in the process.
I am talking about the review of nearly 23 years of research on leather biodegradability and compostability, but I will be making a case why using a biogenic waste product from the meat industry as a renewable resource, and transforming it into a long-lived product that has a very good end-of-life with high organic recyclability is the future of material thinking. I will be making reference to the published studies on leather vs plastic compostability and will touch on biochar and soil carbon – I hope you can make it. Bring those tough questions!!!
We bring leather, material and fashion businesses together: an opportunity to meet and greet face to face. We bring them from all parts of the world so that they can find fresh partners, discover new customers or suppliers and keep ahead of industry developments.
We organise a number of trade exhibitions which focus on fashion and lifestyle: sectors that are constantly in flux, so visitors and exhibitors alike need to be constantly aware both of the changes around them and those forecast for coming seasons.
