Hong Kong - APLF and UK’s De Montfort University join forces to host Artifacts Live: A Legacy in Leather at the trade fair

Artifacts Live: A Legacy in Leather is a partnership exhibition between De Montfort University (DMU) Leicester and the Leathercraft Trust Collections.

On display in the DMU Museum until January 2025, the exhibition celebrates the fusion of heritage skills and contemporary student work. Artifacts Live encouraged final year students in Art & Design courses to draw inspiration from historic objects and the stories behind them to create innovative pieces in their relevant field.

The following option outlines a travelling exhibition to showcase at the 2025 APLF trade fair focusing on both the significance of historic artifacts and the drive for DMU to develop educational outputs in leather.

The exhibition will be in memorial to project participant Oliva Bodak, who sadly passed away last month. Her work has been chosen to represent the student response to the project.

About APLF

We bring leather, material and fashion businesses together: an opportunity to meet and greet face to face. We bring them from all parts of the world so that they can find fresh partners, discover new customers or suppliers and keep ahead of industry developments.

We organise a number of trade exhibitions which focus on fashion and lifestyle: sectors that are constantly in flux, so visitors and exhibitors alike need to be constantly aware both of the changes around them and those forecast for coming seasons.
