IULTCS News - IULTCS recognises Dr Mike Redwood with a named award

Dr Mike Redwood who has collaborated with APLF for many years, was involved in the early years of the Leather Naturally campaign and who is an ILM commentator and columnist, has had an industry award named after him, reports ILM

In June 2020, the Executive Committee of the International Union of Leather Technologists and Chemists Societies (IULTCS) announced the 2021 grants would be awarded to three young scientists, under the age of 35, for research projects in the categories of ‘Leather Research’, ‘Machinery/Equipment’ and ‘Sustainability’. 

As reported by ILM, the first Professor Mike Redwood grant on for Sustainability/Environmental research projects, sponsored by the Leather Naturally initiative, has recently been awarded to Caroline Borges Agustini from Brazil for the project entitled “Hydrocarbon Release During the Biodegradation of Solid Waste from Tanneries for BIOGAS Production”.

The whole team pf APLF sends its warmest congratulations to Dr Redwood for having this prestigious award named after him due to his service to the leather industry during his career.
