With the 20th edition of ACLE starting today and the European tanning industry coming back from its annual August vacation shut-down, many industry participants are wondering if this major international leather fair will give some definitive pointers on the actual state of the Chinese leather sector.
Richard Pai, President of the International Council of Tanners (ICT) and of the Taiwanese International Leather Association (TILA) and Su Chaoying, Honorary Chairman of China Leather Industry Association (CLIA) wish to remind everyone that the 3rd World Leather Congress will take place in Shanghai on 29 August 2017 – the day before All China Leather Exhibition (ACLE).
This 20th edition of the All China Leather Exhibition (ACLE) will take place at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre in Pudong, Shanghai from 30 August to 1 September 2017. This year the fair will be preceded on 29 August by the 3rd World Leather Congress (WLC) due to take place in Shanghai with its theme running through it being “The Leather Revolution”.
APLF’s 33rd edition held from 29 - 31 March proved to be a success from the outset. There was a bustling atmosphere in the halls on Day 1 as buyers arrived to do business, look for new suppliers, materials and solutions for their manufacturing operations. The vibrant atmosphere continued into Day 2 and Day 3 with total visitor numbers exceeding the previous year’s show by 4.33% reaching 16,948 from 83 countries and regions.
Located on the third floor of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Fashion Access, the concomitant fair of APLF attracted almost 20 per cent more visitors this year compared with 2016. Close to 10,000 visitors attended the three day event (from 29 to 31 March, 2017) to the great satisfaction of the more than 262 exhibitors, including 87 first time ones.
