The Brazilian meatpacker said that China has lifted bans on two of its meat plants. These were imposed in 2020 over coronavirus concerns, reports ILM.
On January 22, the government of China published authorisation to resume imports from two JBS units located in Três Passos (pork) and Passo Fundo (chicken), both in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. JBS said in a statement that the measure reflects its work in implementing the highest health and quality standards. Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, JBS said it has invested R$2.8 billion (US$512 million) globally in the protection of its employees and to help communities impacted by the virus.
