Automotive seating supplier Lear Corporation has been named among General Motors’ suppliers of the year for the eighteenth time. It features on a list made up of 133 suppliers from 15 countries.

In addition, General Motors gave Lear one of its four Overdrive Awards for 2018. This award, introduced in 2012, recognises supply partners for “extraordinary leadership in cultural change and commitment initiatives that drive exceptional business results for GM”.

In particular, Lear was commended for the excellent safety record of its employees, the development of its Intu intelligent seating innovations, and its ‘Focus on the Drive’ distracted driving campaign.

Commenting on the awards, Ray Scott, Lear president and CEO, said: "Being recognised as a Supplier of the Year and winning the prestigious GM Overdrive Award means so much to our organisation. Our commitment to safety, quality, operational excellence and innovation is what drives our business, and I want to thank the entire Lear team for their dedication to unmatched customer support."
