Turkey - Low demand drives raw material prices down
06 December 2018

Falling prices

A decrease in orders for Turkish tanners is driving down the price of raw material there.

Recent enquiries by contacts on the ground in Turkey suggest that the price of good-quality wet-salted sheepskins, of approximately seven square-feet, is currently between US$2 and US$3.

The same enquiries have revealed that cattle hides are changing hands in Turkey for between US $1 and US$1.20 per kilo.
