More than 3,400 companies are invited to take part each year, and are assessed on economic, environmental and social factors.
Lanxess is included for the seventh consecutive time and BASF for the 17th consecutive time.
Lanxess CEO Matthias Zachert said: “We have firmly anchored the principle of sustainable development in our corporate strategy. To be listed again in these important indices is a confirmation of our exceptional engagement in this area.
German counterpart BASF said: “The inclusion in sustainability indices and rankings is a confirmation of our excellent performance concerning environmental, social and governance issues.”
